We're absolutely thrilled to share something that has our entire team incredibly excited and humbled at the same time. We've been invited to be part of Ashley for the Arts alongside the legendary McLemore Boys, and honestly, we're still pinching ourselves!
Ashley for the Arts: Where Miracles Happen Every Year
If you haven't heard of Ashley for the Arts, you're about to fall in love with what this event represents. Established by Ashley Furniture Industries in 2009, this has grown into one of Wisconsin's largest and most impactful charity events, and for good reason.
Picture this: three days of world-class music in August, incredible art displays, fitness activities, and family-friendly fun that brings entire communities together. But here's what makes it truly special - every single moment of this festival is dedicated to raising funds for over 70 non-profit organizations. We're talking about participating schools that need resources, children's charities changing young lives, and medical research initiatives that could save countless families.
The beautiful thing about Ashley for the Arts is how they've created something accessible to everyone. They keep costs low so families can come together and be part of something bigger than themselves. It's not just an event - it's a movement of people who believe in lifting each other up.
The McLemore Boys: Living Proof That Faith and Family Create Magic
Now let's talk about the McLemore Boys - John Sr. and John II - because their story is everything we believe in. These guys live by a philosophy that's so simple yet so powerful: Faith first, family second, and then all the rest will fall naturally into place.
John Sr.'s journey is the American dream in action. He spent his life building Masterbuilt alongside the Ole Man and his siblings, creating a family business that brought people together around great food. Meanwhile, his son John II was watching, learning, and dreaming of the day he could work alongside his dad, just like John Sr. had done with the Ole Man.
At just 15 years old, John II started in the warehouse and worked his way through every department - customer service, product development, marketing - all with one dream driving him forward. He wanted to carry on that beautiful tradition of father and son working together, building something meaningful.
But what really gets us is where their love of food came from. It wasn't from fancy restaurants or cooking schools. It was from those precious moments cooking in their backyard with the Ole Man, learning family recipes in the kitchen with MeMaw, sharing meals during camping trips, and testing the latest inventions for their family business. Every meal is a memory, every recipe is a story, every gathering is about bringing people closer together.
Today, the McLemore Boys travel the country as absolute masters of grilling and smoking. They've been on national TV, radio shows, podcasts, and social media. They've brought their expertise to NASCAR races, Super Bowl events, and charitable gatherings. But no matter where they go - whether it's a massive sporting event or an intimate charity dinner - they approach every opportunity with the same genuine excitement to meet new friends, learn new recipes, and share their knowledge with everyone they encounter.
How Backyard Banger Fits Into This Beautiful Story
Our founder, a veteran of seven deployments, created the Backyard Banger because he understood something the McLemore Boys have always known - the most important moments in life happen when people gather around good food and great conversations. Just like John Sr. and John II learned from the Ole Man and MeMaw, we believe the best memories are made when families and friends come together to share meals and stories.
At Ashley for the Arts, we'll be right there supporting the McLemore Boys with our portable kitchen and wet bar, helping with food prep and service. We're so excited to show how our product can enhance these special moments - providing all the convenience and functionality needed to serve incredible food while keeping everyone together and engaged.
There's something beautiful about using our portable kitchen to support an event that embodies everything we believe in: bringing people together, supporting worthy causes, and creating lasting memories around great food.
Gratitude That Runs Soul-Deep
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Mclemore Boys and everyone at Ashley for the Arts for giving us this incredible opportunity. To be part of something that supports over 70 non-profit organizations while bringing families together for three days of music, art, and celebration - this is exactly the kind of impact we dream of making.
The fact that we get to do this alongside the McLemore Boys, whose values of faith and family align so perfectly with our own mission, makes this opportunity even more meaningful. We can't wait to meet new friends, share some incredible food, and contribute to an event that's making a real difference in communities across Wisconsin.
This is what it's all about - when great people come together around great food for great causes, something magical happens. We'll see you at Ashley for the Arts, where faith, family, and fantastic food will create memories that last a lifetime.
From all of us at Backyard Banger, thank you for this incredible honor. Let's make some beautiful memories together! Come say hello, on August 7-9th, Arcadia, WI.
